It’s November 3rd and barring a massive revolt in the Commons, we’ll be back in lockdown again from Thursday! Fun!!
The one (and only) positive about Lockdown 2 – Back in the Habit, is that it’s the second one! Strange as it sounds, we’ve been through this before, so we have experience of how to operate. As a result the shop may be closed but we can still meet your hobby needs.
Buying & Getting Items
All purchases from us need to be made through the website, the only exception to this is MTG singles (we’ll cover those in a bit). In terms of getting your items here are the options:
Delivery (Ipswich & within 10 miles): If you’re local to us we’ll deliver you items to you. If you live in Ipswich it’s £2.50 and if you’re within 10 miles it’s £4. Local delivery planned for Sunday evenings, however if there is demand we’ll do extra delivery runs.
Click & Collect: From what we’ve seen Click and Collect will be an option during Lockdown 2 – Wrath of Karn (Wrath of Boris??), as such we’re going to offer that service. My plan is to be in store at weekends so we can arrange a pickup time, but for starters between 10am – 12pm will be the click and collect window. The door leading to the store will be locked so you will need to call us when you get to us and we’ll bring your bag down. To use click and collect please select ‘Local Pickup’ as the delivery option.
Post: If you’re not local or don’t want to use the other options we can happily post out items. Postage charges are worked out on our website when orders are placed.
If you’d already placed an order on our website before the lockdown announcement and have any issues getting your items please let us know and we’ll do our best to help and make sure your items get to you.
Staying In Touch
We might be closed the month (or maybe more, who knows…) but you can still keep in touch with us!

Talking of staying in touch – make sure you keep in touch with each other! Mental health is important and (as someone who lives on their own) long periods without seeing or speaking to people can be really tough. Feel free to use the Discord server of the Facebook Groups rooms feature to keep in touch with each other. It’s amazing how powerful a friendly voice can be if you’re feeling alone. If you don’t want to physically talk to someone but want to communicate via messages that’s fine – basically if you want to chat to someone about your hobby (or life in general) then we’re here!
Online Store & Stock Availability
We’ve reduced the prices on the vast majority of our stock. Normally November would be a busy month as we’d have our Black Friday Weekend Sale. We may not be able to do it in person but we’re definitely going to do it online!
So this year rather than a Black Friday Weekend Sale it’s a month long Lockdown 2 – The Revenge Sale!
We’ve also temporarily changed the status of all items we don’t have in stock from ‘Backorder’ to ‘Out of Stock’. This means that if we haven’t got something then it cannot be ordered. This is only a short term tweak, basically we want a week to catch up on orders and also see how suppliers cope, what we don’t want if for people to be waiting months for items that are on backorder which has been the case with some items recently.
If there is something you want and it’s showing as out of stock ping us a message and we’ll work with you to sort it out – as we said the change will only be a temporary one.
We’re also going to try and order in all recent releases from GW, as such we’ll have new releases on release day and will hopefully be able to keep newer items in stock – some new items have been out of stock since they were released which is annoying to say the least!

Support Your Local Games Store
This is the key message really. We have an awesome community and we’re keen to come out of this stronger then when we went it, however we’re not complacent, we’ve seen Covid claim a number of LGS’s and we’ll do all we can to avoid being one of them.
All we ask is if you see something that we stock (and have in stock) for a couple of quid cheaper on Amazon or similar please consider buying it form us instead. Online only stores may be cheaper but when this is all over, they won’t provide a local play space for you to use.
